What is Vivipilot?
Vivipilot is an AI-native motion graphics editor that turns natural-language instructions into structured, editable motion projects instead of flattened AI-generated video.
How is Vivipilot different from a text-to-video generator?
Text-to-video systems usually return finished pixels. Vivipilot creates scenes, text, shapes, timing and animation that remain part of an editable composition, so a targeted change does not require recreating the entire video.
Is Vivipilot limited to 8-second video clips?
No. Vivipilot creates an editable, multi-scene timeline instead of a single fixed-duration clip. You can build longer explainers, extend scene durations, add or remove scenes, reorder the story and refine the timing before export.
What can I create with Vivipilot?
Vivipilot is designed for product launch videos, animated explainers, education and science animations, data stories, kinetic typography and other communication-led motion graphics.
Is Vivipilot Desktop free, and does it require an AI key?
Yes. Vivipilot Desktop is free and requires your own supported AI provider key for AI generation. Projects, assets and renders stay on your PC by default. A paid Vivipilot Cloud plan is optional and adds managed Agent credits, synchronization, history and sharing.
What does private by default mean?
A local Vivipilot Desktop project starts and stays on your device. Its project files, scene code, source assets and local renders are not sent to Vivipilot Cloud unless you explicitly connect the project or use a Cloud feature.
Does Vivipilot receive my local prompts or AI key?
Vivipilot does not receive the prompts or provider credentials used in local BYOK mode. Your selected AI provider receives the requests you send to it and processes them under that provider's terms and privacy policy.
Where is my BYOK provider key stored?
Desktop stores configured provider credentials locally in your operating system's secure credential store. Provider keys are not included in project files, previews or exports and are not sent to Vivipilot in local BYOK mode.
What changes when I connect Vivipilot Cloud?
Cloud features are opt-in. When you connect an account or project, Vivipilot can process the information needed for managed Agent usage, project synchronization, version history, storage and sharing. Local projects that you do not connect remain local.
Which Desktop platforms are currently supported?
Vivipilot Desktop is currently available for Linux on x86_64. Windows is coming soon after code-signing is ready, and macOS is also planned.
